
Constitution of the 12 Squadron Association
Article I – Name
The name of the organisation shall be the 12 Squadron Association.

Article II – Purpose
The purpose of the Association is to:

Foster camaraderie and mutual support among current and former members of 12 Squadron.

Preserve and promote the history, heritage, and traditions of the Squadron.

Support the welfare and professional development of serving personnel.
-
Facilitate communication and engagement between members.
-
Represent the interests of the Squadron community in appropriate forums.

Article III – Membership
Section 1: Eligibility
Membership shall be open to:
-
All current and former personnel who have served with 12 Squadron.

Individuals who have made a significant contribution to the Squadron, subject to approval by the Executive Committee.
Section 2: Categories of Membership

Full Members: Serving and former personnel.
-
Honorary Members: Individuals recognised for exceptional service or support. Family members of former 12 Squadron personnel.

Associate (Affiliated) Members: Supporters or affiliates approved by the Committee.
Section 3: Rights and Responsibilities
Members shall:

Uphold the values and objectives of the Association.
-
Be eligible to vote and hold office.
-
Pay any dues or subscriptions as determined by the Committee.

Article IV – Governance
Section 1: Executive Committee
The Association shall be governed by an Executive Committee comprising:

Chairperson

Vice Chairperson
-
Secretary
-
Treasurer
-
Membership Officer
-
Events Coordinator
-
Communications Officer
Section 2: Duties of Officers

Chairperson: Provides strategic leadership and chairs meetings.

Secretary: Maintains records and correspondence.
-
Treasurer: Manages finances and reports on accounts.
-
Other Officers: Support specific functions as defined by the Committee.
Section 3: Elections and Terms

Officers shall be elected by the membership at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Terms shall be for two years, renewable by vote of the committee.

Article V – Meetings
Section 1: Annual General Meeting (AGM)
An AGM shall be held annually to:

Review activities and finances.

Elect officers.
-
Discuss strategic direction.
Section 2: Committee Meetings
The Executive Committee shall meet at least quarterly.
Section 3: Special Meetings
May be called by the Chairperson or upon request by at least 10 members.

Article VI – Finance

The Association shall maintain a transparent financial system.

Funds shall be used solely to advance the Association’s objectives.

The Treasurer shall present an annual financial report at the AGM.

Article VII – Amendments

Amendments to this Constitution may be proposed by any member.
-
Changes require a two-thirds majority vote at the AGM or a Special Meeting.

Article VIII – Dissolution
In the event of dissolution, any remaining assets shall be donated to a charity or organisation aligned with the Squadron’s values, as determined by the Committee.
